YELL Privacy Notice

Welcome! This YELL Privacy Notice (“Privacy Notice”) explains our online information practices and the choices you have about the collection and use of information you submit or we collect through the YELL mobile application (the “YELL App”), our websites (including www.yellpayment.com) that link to this Privacy Notice, and the Yell services available through the YELL App and such websites (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are owned or operated by YELL Services Inc. (“YELL”).
By using any portion of the Services, you expressly consent to our collection, use, disclosure, and retention of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Notice. We also maintain a separate U.S. consumer privacy notice as required by federal law, a copy of which is available at LINK.
1. Information We Collect
(a) Registration and Account Information: When you download the YELL App and register for an account with us, you choose to give us your personal information and are not anonymous to us. Account registration requires that you provide personal information such as your full name, address, phone number, date of birth, email address, username and password. . Personal information is associated with your account when you sign in as a registered user.
(b) Information to Respond to Your Requests: When you send us questions or sign up for notifications or other communications, we may communicate with you through notifications and messaging in the YELL App. We may also ask you to provide your email address for notifications and communications via email. When you send us your questions you may provide additional personal information about yourself to enable us to provide an individualized response to your request. Details of how you can opt-out of receiving certain communications from us are detailed in the Section 3 (Your Choices, Preferences and Opt-Out).
(c) Information from Other Sources: The information we collect may be combined with information from the records of our third party service providers, such as identity verification, fraud prevention and similar services.
(d) Mobile Device Information: We may collect additional information from you if you access the Services through a mobile device mobile device (e.g., your unique device identifier, device’s operating system, IP address, mobile browser, mobile carrier, geo-location (GPS, Wi-Fi, or user-entered), mobile number, email address, contacts, user name, financial or payment information, passwords) and data you allow us to receive through the device settings you turn on or features you allow us to access, such as your device’s camera.
(e) Your Usage Information: When you visit any portion of the Services, we collect usage information sent to us by your computer, mobile, or other access device that tells us how you are using the Services and what third party sites you visit from the Services (“usage information”). This may include information on how you use the Services, such as features you use and actions you take. We may use tracking technologies (e.g., cookies, web beacons, clear gifs, embedded scripts, e-tags, unique device ID) to collect usage information.
We may also collect password information from you when you log in, as well as computer and/or connection information. During some visits we may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, download errors, time spent on certain pages and page interaction information.
2. Uses and Retention
(a) Operate the Services: We use the information collected to (i) provide the Services and the features of the Services; (ii) establish, maintain and manage your account; (iii) authenticate and verify individual identities; (iv) audit interactions, transactions and other compliance activities; (v) respond to customer service requests; (vi) develop, maintain, improve, support and customize the Services and offerings; (vii) conduct promotions; (viii) target marketing efforts and conduct research and analysis; (ix) protect the security of the Services and your account; (x) ensure internal quality control and safety; (xi) debug to identify and repair errors with the Services; (xii) enforce our agreements and policies; (xiii) comply with our legal obligations.
(b) Data Analysis and Research: We use aggregate information about our users, including aggregate usage information, and non-personal information to analyze the Services and user behavior to better understand operation of the Services and for related business purposes.
(c) Prevent Fraud: We use information from the Services to prevent, detect, and investigate fraud, security breaches, and potentially prohibited or illegal activities, and enforce our Terms of Service.
(d) Communicate With You: We use your information to (i) contact you about our Services, promotions, or other offers and your account and to administer the Services; (ii) respond to your inquiries and comments; and (iii) provide other services requested by you, or (iv) contact you for other purposes authorized by law.
(e) Retention of Information: We retain personal information about you for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected, provide you with the services you requested, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements.
3. Your Choices, Preferences and Opt-Out
You can control how and when you want to receive promotional, advertising and marketing emails from YELL by following instructions within the emails we send to you or by contacting us via email at [email protected].. You may control notifications within the YELL App by adjusting your application preferences (e.g., you may control your preferences in iOS by going to Settings and selecting the YELL App). You may not opt-out of administrative emails or notifications for your registered account (for example, emails about your account, transactions or policy changes). For more information about how to change or update your personal information go to Section 6 (Accessing, Reviewing, and Changing Your Personal Information).
4. Disclosure
Information collected on the Services may be shared with:
(a) The YELL Corporate Family: We may share the information we collect about you with the YELL corporate family and their and our affiliates and subsidiaries. The information may be disclosed (i) to provide joint services (e.g., registration, transactions, analytics and customer support); (ii) to help detect and prevent potentially illegal acts, violations of our policies, fraud and/or data security breaches; (iii) to guide decisions about our or third party’s business, assets, operations, rights, products, services, sites, applications, tools, and communications; and (iv) for processing and storage of information. Members of our corporate family may use this information to send you marketing communications and you will have the opportunity to opt-out of such communications as described in Section 3 (Your Choices, Preferences and Opt-Out) above and in accordance with our U.S. consumer privacy policy available at LINK.
(b) Service Providers: We may disclose your information to service providers under contract perform functions on our behalf such as: hosting, technical integration, payment processing, analytics, customer service, legal compliance and fraud protection. These third parties may have access to your personal information when needed to perform their functions.
(c) Third-Parties: We may disclose your information to third-parties in connection with the use of our Services, including financial institutions, merchants, and other third-parties whose services you use in connection with our Services. Information that we share with these third-parties will be used and disclosed in accordance with the applicable third-party’s privacy practices.
(d) Other Persons with Your Consent: We may provide your personal information to other third parties to whom you direct us to share your information. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your consent.
(e) Companies In The Mobile Industry: If you access the Services through a mobile device or app, we may also share your information with carriers, operating systems and platforms.
(f) Legal and Law Enforcement: We may disclose your information to law enforcement, governmental agencies, or authorized third parties, in response to a verified request relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity or any other activity that may expose us, you, or any other Services user to legal liability. In such events, we will only disclose information we deem relevant and/or necessary to the investigation, inquiry or fraud complaint.
(g) Change of Control – New Owners: We may disclose your information to other business entities, should we plan to merge with or be acquired by that business entity. Should such a combination occur, we will make reasonable efforts to request that the new combined entity follow this Privacy Notice with respect to your personal information or provide prior notice if there would be any material changes to this Privacy Notice in accordance with Section 11 (Notification Regarding Updates).
5. Tracking Technologies (Cookies)
When you visit the Services, we and our business partners may use tracking technologies to enhance your online experience or customize our offerings on the Services.
A few additional important things you should know about our use of tracking technologies (e.g., cookies):
- Certain features may be available only through the use of tracking technologies.
- We may use both session and persistent tracking technologies. Tracking technologies can either be persistent (i.e., they remain on your computer until you delete them) or temporary (i.e., they last only until you close your browser). You are always free to decline tracking technologies if your browser permits, although doing so may interfere with your use of the Services. Refer to the help section of your browser, browser extensions, or installed applications for instructions on blocking, deleting, or disabling tracking technologies such as cookies.
- If you are a registered user and you specifically request that the Services remembers your login information, you are allowing us to place a persistent cookie onto your computer or device.
- You may encounter tracking technologies/cookies from our third party service providers, that we have allowed on certain portions of the Services that assist us with various aspects of our Services operations and services, such as Google Analytics.
6. Accessing, Reviewing, and Changing Your Personal Information
Registered users can review and change personal information at any time by accessing their accounts on the YELL App. It is your responsibility to make sure that your personal information in your account is accurate. You should promptly update your personal information if it changes or becomes inaccurate. We may retain some information from closed accounts so that we can comply with law, prevent fraud, assist with investigations, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, analyze or troubleshoot programs, enforce our Terms of Use, or take other actions permitted by law. Likewise, if your account is terminated or suspended by us, we may maintain some information to prevent re-registration.
7. Notice to California Residents
California Privacy Rights. If you are a resident of the State of California, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to request information on how to exercise your disclosure choice options from companies conducting business in California. Specifically,
- Exercising the Right to Know. You may request, up to twice in a 12-month period, the following about the personal information collected on you in the past 12 months: (a) the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected; (b) the categories of sources from which we collected the personal information; (c) the business or commercial purpose for which we collected it; (d) the categories of third parties with whom we shared the personal information; and (e) the categories of personal information about you that we disclosed for a business purpose.
- Exercising the Right to Delete. You may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain limitations under applicable law.
- Exercising the Right to Opt-Out from Sale. You may request to opt out of any “sale” of your personal information that may take place.
- Non-Discrimination. The CCPA provides that you may not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Please indicate your preference as to how you would like us to respond to your request (i.e., email or postal mail). All requests sent via postal mail must be labeled “Your California Privacy Rights” on the envelope or postcard and clearly stated on the actual request. For all requests, please include your name, street address (if you would like a response via postal mail), city, state, and zip code. We may need to verify your identity before responding to your request, such as verifying that the email address or contact information from which you send the request matches your email address or contact information that we have on file. Authentication based on a government-issued and valid identification document may be required. We will not accept requests via telephone or fax. We are not responsible for notices that are not labeled or sent properly, or do not have complete information.
8. Third Parties
The Services may contain links to other third party websites, including social media platforms and the sites of our partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these third party sites. Other parties may collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you link to or access those third party sites or platforms from the Services. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of each website and application with which you interact.
9. Security
We store and process your information on our servers located in the United States. We maintain security measures to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access and disclosure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. No method of data transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. If you believe that your login credentials have been compromised, please make sure to contact us via the contact information in Section 12 (Contact Us).
10. Children’s Privacy
The Services is a general audience site and it is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information via our Services from users in this age group. If you believe your child has provided personal information to us without your consent, please contact us via the email listed in Section 12 (Contact Us).
11. Notification Regarding Updates
From time to time, we may update this Privacy Notice. You agree that we may notify you about material changes in the way we treat personal information by placing a notice of such updates on the Services. You should check the Services frequently for updates.
